Fraze and myself rolled on to The El Rey Theater with first-class, stage-side primo views last night to see how the years have treated this band. Knowing that they had broken up a few years ago, we thought it’d be interesting to see how they have gotten back together to evolve their contemporary rocksteady & ska sound.

As we’re heading knee-deep into Christmas season, we’d like to share our thanks with you all and present a reggae-infused mix to battle all the xmas jingles and merry-hairy-golly tunes of yesteryear. To be honest, this mix is also too, a part of the by-gone days of yesteryear but in an alternative timeline (from the late 1960s to the early 1970s) and from a different country with different values altogether. There are tunes by Derrick Morgan, The Pioneers, Dennis Alcapone, Delroy Wilson, and many more rarified musicians from sweet Jamaica that will get your feet marchin’ from your grid-locked-in-rush-hour-traffic-from-frenzied-&-stressed-out-xmas-shoppers (Is that still true? I haven’t even gone shopping yet…). Anyway, enjoy!
